Doctor, Dietitian or Coach: Ask Who Does What
A centre may introduce a team using several professional and commercial titles. You do not need to know every title in advance, but you should understand who assesses health concerns, who provides the proposed support and who makes clinical decisions. Ask for that explanation before treating a sales conversation as a medical consultation.

Ask for responsibilities, not only titles
Ask who will take the clinical history, review nutrition, discuss behaviour support and assess symptoms or prescribed treatment. NIDDK advises checking the qualifications of staff involved in weight programmes. This page does not confirm any named provider’s credentials or set UAE licensing rules. Request the individual’s relevant qualifications and locally applicable verification rather than relying on a uniform, social-media biography or general centre certificate.
Find the boundary for clinical questions
Ask what happens if you report pain, eating-related distress or a possible medicine problem to a non-clinical adviser. The service should explain how an appropriate professional becomes involved rather than offering a generic motivational response. Do not accept a medicine change or diagnosis solely because someone is described as a coach. If you are unsure about a person’s role, ask before acting on the advice.

Check who remains responsible between appointments
Ask whom you contact when the usual team member is absent, how advice is recorded and whether different professionals share the agreed plan with your consent. A team can be helpful only if responsibilities are clear. Keep the names and roles in your own records, and revisit the arrangement if the service changes staff or replaces a clinical review with a different type of session.

Common questions
Does a centre logo verify an individual’s role?
No. Ask about the named professional’s responsibilities and relevant verification.
Can a motivational title establish prescribing expertise?
No. Clinical decisions need the appropriate qualified professional.
Should I know who handles problems between visits?
Yes. Ask for a clear contact and escalation route rather than a vague team promise.
Sources and information limits
Sources support general medical principles, not the UAE booking policies or service availability. Confirm instructions and local arrangements with the care provider. The update date does not claim clinician review.
Content policy and review statusQuestions before arranging an appointment?
Enquire about the next steps and availability. An enquiry does not confirm a booking or diagnosis and is not an emergency service.
